Goldie - (Metalheadz | UK)
Some people might call what I do drum 'n' bass. But I'm not going to narrow it down to what the music industry thinks is commercially viable. I'm not really into narrow thinking. Making this music is like poker. You begin with five cards. You don't play poker with two cards. That's just the rule of the game. Once you learn how to play you can bend the rules.
Odi - (Bass Fueled Mischief | NYC)
Carlos Castillo or DJ Odi as he is known to the world, does not look like the type to have a group of beautiful women fawning over him. And yet, there are several that I have to get through to talk to him. People murmur “respect” as we walk outside. Their admiration is not underserved. Odi, is in great part responsible for the entire style of jungle music in NYC. “I can’t think of anything that makes me happier,” he says. “Every show makes me better.”
Dara - (Breakbeat Science | NYC)
Orignally from Ireland, Dara moved stateside in the early '90s and quickly established himself in New York's underground dance scene. Furthering the movement, he helped open Breakbeat Science, the first drum'n'bass-only record store in the country, which lead to the development of two spin-off labels, Breakbeat Science Recordings and Orgone. Dara has a keen ear for the classic style of clean drum'n'bass and he uses it to create dark and beautiful melodies with hints of color from deep bass grooves with seamless transitions. An artist and an innovator, it takes a fair amount of skill to not only be able to create the beats you like, but to know who else is doing it too.
Burner Brothers - (Direct Drive | SubSonik Sound | NYC)
The NYC metro area DJ/Production trio of DJ Wally aka Pish Posh (Queens), DJ Seen (New Jersey), and Chris Thomas (Brooklyn) has successfully collaborated on drum'n'bass tunes since 1998. DJ Seen and Chris Thomas made their name DJing at NYC's finest drum’n’bass nights and raves. Mutual respect led to smoked-out studio sessions, knowledge exchange, and numerous releases as the Burner Brothers. Wally and Seen's A&R/Managing roles at Rawkuts (the defunct drum'n'bass imprint of Rawkus), and years of dedication keeps them stocked with kindred producers' newest sounds to rock alongside a deep arsenal of their Burner Brothers and solo joints. In addition to touring, residency at NYC's standout Direct Drive parties exemplifies their heavyweight ability as crowd-pleasing DJs. From twisted scorchers to sexy rollers -- Pish Posh, Chris Thomas, and DJ Seen each bring their unique taste and production skills to a tune before "It's a wrap!" as a Burner Brother production.
Raw Q - (Bingo Beats | Grid Recordings | Direct Drive | NYC)
Raw Q is long time NYC Dj/producer with tracks released on prestigious labels such as Zinc's Bingo Recordings and Grid Recordings. His tracks have earned support from DnB's most respected djs and artists such as: Zinc, Roni Size, Flight, Randall, Fabio, Bryan Gee, Bailey, Krust, Marky, Marcus Intalex, L Double and many more.
