Baltimore's own visionary Winter Solstice celebration! On Saturday December 20, 2008 Baltimore's premier music venue, Sonar, presents a multimedia collaboration featuring live paintings by world renowned visionary artists Allyson and Alex Grey, and the music of psychedelic world rock band TELESMA. In the main room, Alex Grey will begin by doing a live body painting of TELESMA member Ian Hesford while Damn Right! and then Eliot Lipp open. Next a spoken word performance from Alex's soon to be released book Art Psalms. This will be followed by a 2 hour set of TELESMA's "other worldly" music with both Alex Grey and wife Allyson painting live onstage. The band will be able to see and react to the paintings as they develop, while the Grey's will be reacting to the music being performed. Both visual and auditory elements will influence each other, culminating in a truly collaborative, multi-medium, engagement of the senses.
Fans will be able to watch as it all unfolds on large projection screens. Finally, the night ends in the main room with a mesmerizing late night set by EOTO (members of The String Cheese Incident). Also featuring in the club room and lounge: Mikio (of Freek Factory), Joe Nice, Aligning Minds, Push, Segway, and lounge hosted by DJ Knowledge. Live body painting throughout the club, visual projections, Alex Grey's artwork, performance art and more!
