lil constructive criticism...2-3 all day event with 3 weeks of promo THE DAY AFTER XMAS prob not the best of ideas.
If this was a one night thing Id say you'd do ok. But, 1. realistically who is going to have that sort of money to throw right after the holiday? Especially when everyone I know is gearing up for NYE. Just sayin'
2. Why would you rush something of this size why not do it in Jan where youd have more time to promote and when College is in session.
No Offense I wish you guys the best with this...but dont get your hopes up on this going off as well as you think it will. Just seems rushed IMO. |

I said the exact same thing, but it's not my party. I won't turn down an offer to play and party :) I just don't see the logistics of it. It costs quite a bit to rent out for 3 days I'm sure. With all the people playing (free rooms) adds more. My opinion, a very bad idea if you plan to make any $, or even break even. Money isn't always the drive to let others have a good time though. I would throw one for people to have fun as long as I made most or all my investment back. Nothing wrong with taking a small loss for other people's entertainment. More power to you if that's the case :)
With that said, I forsee a room with mostly the acts who are there to play, with minimal turnout and dancing. Sorry to shit on the idea, but it makes sense.
For all I know though, you guys can pull it off and pack it with crazy ravers dancing for 3 days, which I hope will happen :)
Either way, I will be there and enjoy myself. Thank you for having me on board. I want you to succeed and throw a rager :) I wish for the best. |

yea thats all Im trying to say. Im not saying that there is no heart in trying to do this and that its not a cool idea. But just the timing of it sucks. And of course the dj's arent going to complain when u have free room and comp for the weekend. And I think the only reason Ramada jumped on it is cause its a very slow time of the year for them being that school is not in session and such so they are hoping to see some money.
Like I said if you were to do this in Jan or even feb once school is in session I would bet you that this would kill. But again 3 weeks promo for a 2 day event when college isnt in session in a struggling economy WITH prob the 2nd or 3rd biggest party of the year falling on NYE. yea good luck with that. |

this is turning out to be like the rock the resort thread. Less then 2 weeks away and the thread is dead!!!! I would like to see this work out but, I have my doubts. Most college kids in cortland have no clue this is going on. There is not fliers anywhere out there. My brother in-law and his roommates are staying over the break and didn't know anything about it utill I said something to them. |

Regardless of it's success I still support this event =] The idea is great, and has been done before with other festies, I personally plan on going and snowboarding myself to death for three days with some awesome dj's and psytrance kiddies, dunno bout you :P |

College kids will be on break then. IDK, psytrance has a dedicated following that seperates itself from the rest of the scene. It's a good idea and I wish you guys the best of luck! Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work out well- just learn from the mistakes and start planning well in advance for the next one. |
