lol@$3200 for a tiny computer with some knobs on it

i could build a disgustingly fast rack mount computer and a fuckload of midi controllers for that kind of coin

shit you want soemthing like that and got the cash i'll build you a dual quad core rackmount beast with a 7" touchsscreen modded into the front and mod a bunch of midi knobs onto it

shiat i could build a mini itx into one of those larger tabletop project boxes that would probably smoke that fuckin thing

edit: also lol@only being able to play 4 synths at once

nah i'm not familiar enough with electrical engineering to bend circuits

i do however build the fuck out of computers which is essentially what that thing is

a small computer that runs a few arturia vsts(which i already have anyway)

I want a computer built into a case(dj coffin maybe) with some drumpads, knobs at least 32, a touch pad interface and 64 grid buttons
and I want to push power and go.

edit, chances of fitting all that in one device is low

also kinda silly cause if one component goes down your whole shit is out of commission while it's getting fixed

much better to just have a badass computer in a rack and some controllers

that red sound mixer was pretty sweet

the cross faders were modular and they were going to release all sorts of different drop in modules but they went under before they got around to it

The origin seems cool, I like the modular capabilities of the virtual synthesis....and a dedicated hardware interface looks very nice...but not something I can see myself purchasing.
I think most softsynths sound like crap, though most the arturia ones do sound good....but by no means close to what they are supposed to emulate.

Id be so happy if roland released a groovebox with a touchpad on it...one of the two main reasons I bought a v-synth.

Im a sucker for gear, this years purchases will include an elektron monomachine, and a yamaha tenori on for sure.
I would love to pick up a Dave smith polyevolver, but my prophet kind of has the DSI sound covered for now.

would love to upgrade my v-synth to a v-synth GT, but im sure my lady would kill me if she saw that ;-)

the only things im drooling over are the davsmith/roger linndrum2, and the john bowen Solaris

meh emulation is fine with me

i'm not particularly interested in spending that kind of money on a hobby that has about 0.00001% chance of making any sort of return on the investment

the gear may slightly appreciate in value but that's about it
